It’s been a little more than six months since this newsletter about rethinking food culture from a feminine point of view first launched, here are some thoughts for the holidays and the year to come…
We could rant all we want about 2020 but then we would miss the lessons that came with it, which are plenty (and necessary).
We could also say to each other how much we wish for 2021 to come full of great things, but good things do not come alone (with a few exceptions) we have to fight for them every single day.
What I hope for us is to approach life with a renewed perspective, one that pushes us to create better relationships with the world we live in and the people in it.
I want to thank everyone who subscribed to Atole this year (and those who haven’t but are reading this, please do already!) for welcoming us into your inboxes, it’s been a hell of a ride.
I also want to give special thanks to the beautiful women who contributed to Atole this year with their recipes, stories, and insights about food and related topics: Karla Zazueta, Carla Altesor, Lina Martínez, Rosi Amerena, Grace Uriegas, Maru Salazar, Sandra López, Mónica Gallardo, and Linda Campos.
If you like Atole, please consider becoming a supporter (it comes with new extras!). We really, really need you to continue to exist! (go to this link to learn how).
Enjoy the holidays, the food, the drinks, the music, and your loved ones, even if it is through the screen of an electronic device... We’re here, congratulations!
Be safe and see you in 2021 ¡Salud!
With love,
Renata Lira.
*I would love to hear your thoughts about Atole… Are there are any foods or recipes you would like to see next year? Let me know…
